Dan has extensive experience preparing, filing and prosecuting patent applications; providing Freedom-to-Operate advice; undertaking patent and IP landscaping analysis; providing IP strategy and portfolio management and advising on contentious matters including infringement and IP litigation.

As well as providing guidance on all aspects of the Intellectual Property system, Dan specialises in assisting clients obtain UK and world-wide IP protection for innovations across electrical, electronic and mechanical engineering technologies. Particular specialisms include software, robotics, consumer electronics, communications technologies, industrial and process engineering, oil and gas technologies, automotive and aerospace engineering, medical devices and scientific instruments. Dan works with a broad range of clients including multi-nationals, SMEs, start-ups and academic institutions.

Education:

Dan has a Masters of Engineering, Electrical and Electronics, from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and a Certificate in Intellectual Property Law from Queen Mary, University of London.
